As of Tuesday morning, about 200 tickets were left in the annual Mahwah Municipal Alliance Mercedes-Benz raffle. If tickets sell out, Mahwah residents will have a one in 699 shot at a brand new Mercedes-Benz.

The MMA is a group of resident and police volunteers who put together community and student wellness programs. In the past, funds from the raffle have been used to support MMA programs like D.A.R.E., the Junior Police Academy, and the Youth Leadership Academy. MMA members say that about 80 percent of the money they raise throughout the year comes from the Mercedes raffle. The balance comes mostly from private donations.

This year, a $100 ticket will buy you a shot at a Mercedes-Benz GLK 350. Tickets can be purchased at Mahwah police headquarters, on Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah Sunoco, on Franklin Turnpike, or on the MMA website.

The winner will be drawn on July 20, so there is just over a week left to purchase tickets. Winners do not need to be present at the drawing.

Raffle ticket sales will end whenever all 699 have been sold, and MMA members say the tickets typically sell out before the raffle date.
