Advice For Families With Graduating Seniors

Looking to Mahwah parents for advice

This Friday, several hundred township families will watch their sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren reach a milestone. As graduation nears, so too does the gamut of emotions for all friends and family members - excitment, anxiety, anticipation, and sadness, everything that goes along with closing one chapter and beginning another.

Any advice for family members or for the graduates?

My advice for graduates and family members is to take a deep breath and just enjoy every minute. These milestones only happen a few times in our lives and they pass quickly. Take the time to realize everything that's going on around you. Really listen to the commencement speeches. They usually come with good advice. Spend this time with family and friends. Since many students will be leaving home in September, reassure them family is only a phone call away.
