Brooklyn Man Critical After Meadowlands Beating
Beating by group following Mexico vs. Wales soccer match caps tough month at the sports complex.
EAST RUTHERFORD -- A Brooklyn man was in critical condition Monday after he was beaten by a group of men in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium a day earlier, NJ.com reported.
The attack occured following an international soccer 'friendly' between Mexico and Wales. It left Alfredo Lopez, 37, in critical condition at Hackensack University Medical Center, NJ.com reported.
His brother was also attacked, but not seriously injured.
A state police spokesman told NJ.com that the brothers had approached a "low-rider" vehicle and asked if the driver could make the suspension bounce, but instead were chased through the parking lot by up to six men and beaten.
This is the second serious incident this month at the Meadowlands. A Kinnelon man who worked as a stagehand was killed while riding his motocycle to work on May 12 when two men lost control of the Ferraris they were driving.
One struck and killed the motorcyclist, Stephen Lenge. The two men have been charged with death-by-auto.
Also, 25 people were arrested over one weekend this month during the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Meadowlands. The charges included drug possession, assault and resisting arrest.

Mood altering drugs change your brain chemistry making their use dangerous to others around you, not just the user.
