Traffic Engineer: Crossroads Mall Could Generate 1,000 Cars An Hour On Route 17

During an ongoing public hearing on the Crossroads Town Center, a controversial retail development slated for the intersection of routes 17 and 287, a traffic expert said the mall would add about 1,000 cars per day to Route 17 in Mahwah. While he said the projection“was workable,” most cars coming to the center, he said, would be coming from within a 20 miles radius.

Teacher Contract Talks Stalled Until May

Teachers announced this week that they will be waiting until a state-mediated meeting between the MEA and the board in May to discuss contract negotiations. Both sides say they are eager to reach settlement.
