Dance Studio To Return To Mahwah

Owner is back with a new name and location

Mahwah performers looking for a school to harness their dancing, singing and acting skills can look to familiar faces this fall.

Dance studio owner Colleen Cross and Artistic Director Rosanne Renda are opening a new studio, Infinite Motion Performing Arts Studio, inside the Gateway Plaza at 21 Franklin Turnpike.

Cross owned and operated Look Sharp Performing Arts Center in Mahwah for 12 years, until it closed its doors last summer.

“We kept our dance company, adult classes and our college performance company with us last season for performances and competitions and then had this opportunity come up that we decided to re-open,” Cross said.

The teachers, Miss Colleen and Miss Rosanne as they are known to their former students, say they are happy to be back in Mahwah.

“We definitely wanted to be back here, and we are excited to let new and old clients know we are back in town,” Cross said.

The Planning Board approved Infinite Motion’s tenant application, making the business the first inhabitants of that location on the second floor of the Gateway center.

The studio will offer a range of dance, voice, and theater classes that range from beginner through pre-professional, children through adults. It also plans on offering lunch hour workouts and triple-threat programs for adults.

Cross says Infinite Motion is a mix of some aspects of her previous studio with new ones added in. She is using the tagline, “a new studio and innovative curriculum...keeping the same traditions and positive environment," to describe the new business.

Infinite Motion is set to fully open this September, but auditions for certain companies will be held in late August:

  • Dance Company Auditions & Intensive Study (ages 4-17)- Week of August 22
  • Performance Company Auditions (ages 7-17)- Saturday, August 27
  • Mascara: A Dance Project (ages 18-29) - Tuesday, August 30

Those looking for more information can call 201-529-1130, email InfiniteMotionPAA@gmail.com, or visit the studio’s Facebook page.
