E-Waste Collection At Sharp

Gather your old electronics for drop off Thursday and Friday

Sharp Electronic Corporation’s Mahwah, NJ, headquarters will celebrate its third annual ‘E-waste’ collection event on Thursday May31 and Friday June 1, providing the opportunity for Sharp employees and local residents to responsibly dispose of unwanted computer and electronic equipment from their home or business.

Sharp will be collecting monitors, computer processing units (CPUs), laptop computers, hard drives, modems, keyboard, and printers, DVD players, fax machines, speakers, power sources and wiring.

“Sharp is happy to extend this annual event to local residents and businesses, providing them with a safe and responsible means for disposing equipment they no longer use,” said Ben Larkey, senior manager of Corporate Environmental Affairs.  “If they are not able to participate in Sharp’s May 31st and June 1st events, we encourage them to visit the Electronic Manufacturers Recycling Management Company (MRM) website, mrmrecycling.com to find recycling drop off locations.”

The collections will take place at the Sharp Electronics Corporation headquarters in Mahwah from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on both days. Residents are asked to reference the E-waste collection when they arrive at the security check-in and limit their disposal to seven items per person.

Sharp has long supported environmentally responsible waste prevention, reduction, management and recycling. Sharp co-founded the Electronic Manufacturers Recycling Management Company (MRM), a nationwide electronics recycling initiative that has resulted in the recycling of millions of pounds of e-waste.
