Five Mahwah Officers To Ride In 2012 Unity Tour

Officers will honor five fallen brothers

Dear Mahwah,

On May 9 - 13, 2012 five officers will be representing the and participating in the 2012 Police Unity Tour, a 300+ mile bicycle ride from Northern New Jersey to Washington, D.C. to support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

For the past fifteen years, law enforcement officers nationwide have ridden the 300 plus mile trip with the purpose of fundraising awareness and financial support for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The Police Unity Tour has grown from 18 members to over 1250 members nationwide who will be making the trip this year. Because of your generosity, nearly 9.5 million dollars has been donated to the Memorial, making the Police Unity Tour the single largest supporter of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

Every year hundreds of law enforcement officers die in the line of duty. Nothing can ever replace them to their families and friends. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. allows for their memories to live on and honor these men and women forever.

In just the last two years, nine police officers in New Jersey gave the ultimate sacrifice and were killed in the line of duty. The five Mahwah Officers will be riding to honor the New Jersey officers killed in 2011.
