Five Things: Cinco de Mayo!

Five things you need to know today

"Five Things" is a daily Patch feature where we give you Mahwah's top five tips and events for each day of the week. Have a suggestion for a "Five Things" item? E-mail the editor at Jessica.mazzola@patch.com.

  1. It’s Cinco de Mayo! Celebrate at one of the Patch Pick locations in Bergen County hosting events. If you will be at Continental Field for a game, stop by the Field of Creams eatery to taste today’s special -bean and cheese quesadillas.
  2. The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Second Annual Miniature Golf Tournament, which was cancelled due to weather last week, has been rescheduled for today.
  3. Learn about the legends and folklore of the Hudson Valley region tonight at the Mahwah Library. Stop by at 7 p.m. for a free seminar given by Andrew Smith.
  4. Head to the Northern Highlands High School in Allendale at 7 p.m. for an autism awareness event. Award Winning Author Ellen Sabin will be speaking on the subject, and registration is free!
  5. Good luck to the varsity baseball and softball teams, who will both take on Lakeland Regional at 4 p.m. Boys are away, girls are home. We’ll also be rooting for the girl’s varsity lacrosse team, taking on Wayne Hills High.
