The three groups offered locals still without power from Hurricane Sandy a homemade meal, chance to socialize and get out of the house, and a warm place to eat Thursday evening.
“It really was a success,” Jeremy Matthews of the Plant Church said. “We had people in and out the whole time. We must have filled the room twice.”
Friday, the groups are sticking to the plan that worked so well Thursday.
A free dinner will be held Friday, Nov. 2, at the Ramapo Reformed Church at 5 p.m. All are invited to attend.
“We’re hoping that residents who couldn’t make it out Thursday come Friday.” Matthews said. “It really is a good opportunity to get out and have a warm meal with people. I think it helps.”
