Girl Scouts Start Halloween Weekend With Trunk-Or-Treat
Families dressed up for this fun Friday evening event
The girl scouts of Mahwah's Cadette Troop 960 organized their first ever Trunk-or-Treat in honor of Halloween. Over 120 kids came to the senior center parking lot Friday to grab candy and snacks from the trunks of cars that their families had decorated with spooky Halloween themes. The trunk-or-treaters also made holiday crafts and had a birthday cake that Troop Leader Sue Reardon said was to honor Juliette Low's birthday. Low founded the Girl Scouts in 1960.
Reardon called the event a "great time for all those attending, and they get to wear their costumes one more time this year."
Check out the photo gallery from this event, which the troops hope will become an annual Halloween celebration.

Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts on March 12, 1912 in Savannah Georgia. Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) will be celebrating their 100th Anniversary this year. The Girl Scouts of Northern NJ (GSNNJ) kickoff event for this year-long celebration is next Sunday November 13th as 5000 Girl Scouts bridge to a new century across the George Washington Bridge

thank you Susan. Glad you caught the mistake. I'm not sure where 1960 came from, but... it wasn't me...lol
