Local Groups, Businesses Offer Freebies to Mahwah Residents

Find out where to get free breakfast, firewood, or a place to go

With many Mahwah residents still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy, many local organizations and businesses have been lending a helping hand to residents. Here are some of the things you can pick up.

  • The Plant Church is hosting a free bagel breakfast for any Mahwah area residents and neighbors who were affected by the storm. The breakfast will be Sunday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Paulist Press building on Macarthur Blvd. Organizers say the event will be a good opportunity to get out to get some rest and enjoy breakfast and coffee with the community.
  • Cipriano Farms has free bundles of firewood available for Mahwah residents who have lost power. Deliveries will begin Monday morning. Phone lines are down at the farm so, email Christie@plantnj.com for information.
  • Ramapo College has opened its Bradley Center as a warming station for residents.
