Mahwah Elves Mobilizing for Hurricane Sandy Volunteer Help
Elves are looking for residents who will help with post-storm clean-up or lodging of displaced residents

The Mahwah Elves, a group of resident volunteers who formed last year after Hurricane Irene to help Mahwah residents recover from the after effects from the storm, is gearing up for Round Two.
According to group founder Suzy Godding, who came with fellow volunteers to the township’s free sandbag giveaway Sunday afternoon, the group is helping residents in flood-prone areas prepare for the storm, and getting ready for post-Sandy clean-up efforts.
The Elves are in need of both volunteers who will help clean-up after the storm, and residents with generators willing to take in families who may be displaced during and after the storm.
