Mahwah High School Ranked 55th Best In NJ
New Jersey Monthly ranking marks third time this year MHS has been ranked among the top schools in the state and nation
Mahwah High School was ranked in the top 20 percent of high schools statewide in the biennial New Jersey Monthly rankings, released Tuesday. Of a list of 328 public high schools in New Jersey, Mahwah High School was ranked Number 55.
The ranking is virtually unchanged from the 2010 list, where MHS was ranked 56.
The 2012 rankings were based on the state Department of Education’s latest NJ School Report Card data, for the 2010-11 school year.
To compile the rankings, schools were compared to one another in three categories: School Environment, which includes measurements like standardized test scores and student/teacher ratio, Student Performance, like AP and HSPA scores, and Student Outcomes, which considers graduation rates.
Mahwah High School was noted as having average class sizes of 25 students, 10.7 student-to-faculty ratio, and average combined SAT score of 1656. Mahwah graduation rate was 96.17 percent.

Frankly, I think these ratings are just so bogus anyway.
Also, what's with the "golden" thunderbird statue? It looks like a Buddah.
Reminds me of when Immaculate Conception on Darlington Avenue painted
their Mary statue gold. Thank God they finally changed it. Perhaps Mahwah High School should do the same with their Thunderbird. How about one that looks real?
