Mahwah Planning Roads to Repave
The township engineer is ranking roadways to see which need repairs the most. Which do you think should make the 2013 pave list?
Mahwah is nearly finished with its 2012 roads program, township engineer Mike Kelly reported at a town council meeting Thursday night. It finished repaving about 20 roads this Fall, and just finished additional work this week repairing damage to Ridge Road that occurred during Hurricane Sandy.
Thursday, Councilman Harry Williams called the over $1M road paving project this year, “really helpful,” and asked what the plan for next year’s program will be.
The township’s administration has started meeting with Department of Public Works officials to create a list of problematic roadways in town, Business administrator Brian Campion said.
And, Kelly said he is in the midst of reviewing the ratings he assigned streets last year. The engineer said he will present and updated list to the township, ranking the condition of every town road in Mahwah, soon, as budgeting and planning for 2013 is already underway.
So, Patch wants to know, which roads are in desperate need of a pave job? The roads that made the pave list in 2012 are here. Which do you think should make it in 2013? Tell us in the comments below.

DEFINETIVELY!! MacArthur Blvd from 17 to Ridge, and Ridge from MacArthur to entrance to Darlington Ridge. These sections are heavily traveled and have been a "patch job" ever since the utility dug up the roads years ago!!! Thousands of residents in the Condos and employees of the businesses on MacArthur use these two sections of road daily.

How about Route 202! From West Ramapo Ave to Avenue A. Its terrible, so full of pot holes, you can't avoid them, I always slow down there or else it shakes the hell out of my car. Also Campgaw road is pretty pitiful, with one lane all cut up and patched from a previous repair, from the overpass to the police and fire academy is also getting quite worn out.

MacAuthur Road is a disaster. It is heavily travelled and is a main road that supports our tax paying companies. It also feeds several Condo developments.

How About just doing whatever ones they pick correctly ! My street was done last year and every Catch basin was raised the day of paving and are ALL collapsing so our tax dollars are paying 2X. Very frustrating to see the town crews spending 1.2 day fixing 1 catch baisn 2 more to go ! come on inspectors get your head out of @#$%^
