Orange and Rockland seems to have no idea what they are doing. Spoke with a wire watcher and asked when they were coming to take care of the downed trees and poles. Watcher said that they were there a few different times to assess the situation and then said how many times do you have to assess? Just start fixing it. I agree. At this time there are hundreds of trucks parked in the crossroads, currently not working around the clock as they have been claiming.

This is pathetic.

We have the same situation by our house. We have two wire watcher though! Unbelieveable!!

Complain, complain, whine and complain! Be grateful for what you have and stop being so damn self centered and selfish. Many lost EVERYTHING. Did you? Power and replaceable food are nothing to losing your home in its entirety!

Hey Sandy, I am holding our Electric company accountable. Rockland Electric has nothing to do with the areas of the tri-state that were severely impacted. Rockland Electric had the least amount of outages and has returned the least amount of people back to power. I am expected to do my job no matter what's going on at home or not, why can't they do their job?

O&R is a joke, i sent below to mayor . Why did I see hundreds of trucks just parked in the Sheraton hotel parking lot not doing anything for hours upon hours? So O&R crews can get overtime while not working? Why is it that O&R is saying they restored close to 80% of their customers back but yet only about 50% of Mahwah has been restored. This is beyond unacceptable, I have yet to see a truck of any kind anywhere. I am now sick due to sleeping in a 40 degree house, I cannot get a hotel because I have no realistic time line as to when power will be back ,so who do I send the doctor bills too? I cannot even send this e-mail to the joke of a company because they have no e-mail address on their website. As elected Mayor you are the only one who has the access to pressure them, I am done asking and now demanding something be done!

The Mayor appears to be trying hard. But after Katrina there was great outrage based on the belief that New Orleans was not receiving federal government help. Well if you look around our community where is the federal government? Is the government going door to door to insure the elderly are no freezing to death in there own homes – NO! Is the government finding transportation for those who can not get fuel and have no mass transit alternative – NO!!! Is the federal government coming in with generators to power our schools - No!!! Is the federal government sending trucks with gas - No!!! Is the government doing enough to fix mass transit – NO!!! Is this because the federal government does not care about us or because they are incompetent?

Andy, i understand what your saying and believe that O&R deserves most of the blame. When only 3 out of about 50 of my co-workers are still without power and us 3 are all O&R customers, you know something is not right. For having the least amount of total outages yet moving slowest, thats where my anger lies, and frankly they are a joke.

I think it's because there is a big election the Goverment is worried about tomorrow. The president used this as a tool to try and get additional votes then step away and move back to OHIO to get that state to be re-elected. Fed Gov. (Obama) is worried about the next 4 years in office right now while we suffer at home. Not just Mahwah!
In regards to the power companies, The O & R company really is a joke, the Electric company that came to assess our street told me O & R is restricting the amount of hours they can work at one time!! They used to be able to work until the job is done, now they have to stop, I believe every 12 hours, for 8 hours then start back up again ON THE SAME JOB becasue they know what needs to get done and another crew would not. That needs to be addressed!!!

Power on. In Brookside Manor at 6 PM. Finally. My knees were starting to stay bent when I tried to get up from sitting....... Thanks Nayir fir all your help I finally getting them moving. Also to the DPW for all your assistance. And the Police for keeping us safe and being watchful for any disturbances. The volunteers for food and drinks and opening their doors and help to so many people. And also. to our emergency services who gave up family time to help at any given time to do whatever was asked of them. And the ambulance for the numerous calls they answered. And mist of all I would like to thank all the people of Mahwah who came out and helped each any way they could. You should be proud to be a Mahwahian!!!!!
