Man Steals $500 Worth of Rogaine and Razors from Drugstore, Cops Say
Used 'Boost Bag' to get items past the store's security system, police say
A Brooklyn man was arrested in Mahwah Thursday night after allegedly using a “boost bag” to shoplift over $500 worth of Rogaine and razors from the CVS on Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah Police Chief Jim Batelli said.
Wayne Craft, 41, allegedly used a boost bag, a device fashioned out of a black plastic bag, tin foil and duct tape, to get the stolen items passed the store’s security system, Batelli said.
According to police, CVS employee statements and surveillance video showed Craft and another man in the store when Craft left with a purple bag of shoplifted items and headed on foot down Franklin Turnpike.
When police met up with Craft near Fox Lane, he was found to have a box cutter knife in his jacket pocket, the boost bag, shoplifted items, and a zip loc bag containing a “white powdery substance believed to be cocaine,” Batelli said.
Craft was on parole out of New York state and had an active warrant for his arrest out of Woodbridge, police said.
Craft was charged with shoplifting, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of cocaine, police said. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail on $5,000 bail.
Police are still looking for the other man who was in the store with Craft, Batelli said. “We have a basic description of the other person and the vehicle [he was driving], but no identification,” Batelli said.
The items taken from CVS, which police said are commonly shoplifted to be resold at small stores in NYC, were recovered.
Mahwah police officers Eric Larsen and Ryan Hill responded to the scene, and Officer William Hunt investigated the case. Batelli credited the officers’ “quick response [and] alert reactions" with the arrest.

You are right John. The truth is the truth although many try to sugar coat it. I laugh at a TV commercial that says "if you see something, say something", it's always a white guy placing what may be a bomb on a bus or train. Of course if you used an Arab male that would be preposterous. The arab community can't be offended.

I have to say the man is enterprising. Do you need hair? Check. Do you want to remove unwanted hair? Check.
