MSF Race To Cause Road Closures Sunday
Take alternate route if you planned on driving these roads
This Sunday, the Mahwah Schools Foundation is hosting its annual 10K fundraiser. The 2K11 will leave several roads closed throughout the duration of the race.
According to the Mahwah Police Department, the following roads will be impacted by the MSF Run this Sunday:
From 8:30-10 a.m.
- Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) / Northbound -CLOSED
- Darlington Avenue / Westbound - CLOSED
- West Ramapo Avenue / Westbound - CLOSED
- Ridge Road / Southbound – CLOSED
From 10-11 a.m.
- Darlington Avenue / Westbound - CLOSED
- Ridge Road / Southbound - CLOSED
- MacArthur Blvd (between Ridge and Darlington)/ Eastbound – ONE LANE CLOSED
According to police, traffic will proceed in a circular pattern around closed roads. The route will follow Darlington Avenue (eastbound) to MacArthur Blvd (eastbound) to Ridge Road (northbound) to West Ramapo Avenue (westbound) to Route 202 (southbound).
Drivers looking to go to Ramapo College or Continental Soldiers Field can only get there by traveling south on Route 202 from Route 17. During the race, motorists exiting locations on Route 202 will only be able to drive south, toward Oakland, police said. Drivers will not be able to reach the college or the park from Darlington Ave.
During the road closures, residents may have a tough time getting to the following locations:
- Ramapo College of NJ
- Bergen County Parks (Darlington County Park, Ramapo Reservation, Campgaw Mountain)
- Houses of Worship (Immaculate Conception Church, Holy Cross, Temple Beth, Hindu Samaj)
- Sports Facilities (Continental Soldiers Field, Adorno Fathers Field)
- Mahwah Public Library
- Mahwah High School, Middle School, Lenape Meadows, and Joyce Kilmer School
