New Owners Officially Revamp Longtime Mahwah Flower Shop

New owners took over the shop a year ago, and have been transitioning to the new look ever since

Anyone who has driven along E. Ramapo Ave. in Mahwah over the past week has likely noticed a big change – longtime Mahwah florist Bob’s Flower Shoppe is no more. About a year after new owners took over the store, it has officially changed its name to Flor Bella Designs. The new managers say they have treated the past year as a transition period for customers.

Since last November, Flor Bella has slowly been changing the interior of the store. The transformation was completed last week, with some new outdoor signage, and a kickoff grand re-opening.

Managers and floral designers Scott Alexander and Frederick Lange say they have not forgotten the long history of Bob’s, which had been open in Mahwah since the 1970’s.

“The old owners were great, so there are definitely certain aspects of the old store that remain,” Alexander said. “We’re still a full service floral shop.”

However, many aspects of the shop have been updated.

“We definitely have a fresh approach, and some creative new ideas in terms of designs and concepts that the community has been very responsive to,” Alexander said.

Flor Bella both creates fresh bouquets and silk arrangements. The shop makes arrangements for special events, like weddings and parties, and serves both resident and corporate clients.
