Mahwah Lt. Robbie Himber and Assistant Chief Ray Virgens man the grill during the pancake breakfast to benefit the Mann Family. The Mann Family lost their home to a fire earlier this month and residents of Mahwah have been lining up to help the family to recover.

Mahwah residents gathered at the Elks Lodge Sunday morning for pancakes, syrup, fruit cups and other breakfast foods served by the township's firefighters. The MFD has been working all month long to collect donations and raise money for a Mahwah family that lost its home in a fire on Jan. 2. Residents gathered to enjoy the breakfast and help the family Sunday morning.

The MFD Fundraiser Committee released a statement thanking the community for supporting the event:

“We were thrilled with the outcome which exceeded our expectations and were overwhelmed by the support shown from our community as well as others during a family’s time of great need. Our fire department members should also be proud of the hard work they put into this event. We’d also like to thank our sponsors, Inserra Supermarkets, The Market Basket, IHOP & The Mahwah Elks. Without their time and dedication it would not have been possible.”
