Les Paul guitars have made their way from Mahwah, where their creator lived for much of his life, all around the world. Last month, one landed on reality TV.
A recent episode of The History Channel's 'Pawn Stars,' which features a family-owned pawn shop in Las Vegas, featured a rare Les Paul brought to the shop by Mary Ford's nephew.
According to a Huffington Post report on the episode Les is More:
"The "Pawn Stars" (Mon., 10 p.m. EST on History) were the envy of guitar enthusiasts everywhere when singer Mary Ford's nephew showed up with a guitar case in tow.
Inside the case was a piece of guitar history: A cream, 1961 Gibson "SG," once owned by guitar legend, and Ford's ex-husband, Les Paul. Ford's nephew also had a stack of papers documenting Paul's tempestuous relationship with guitar manufacturer Gibson.
How could Rick and Corey Harrison put a price on such an artifact? Well, they were helped by the fact that the owner had a price in mind -- "You're getting history here" -- and he wouldn't budge until their offer matched it.
The price? A cool $90,000."
The episode is now on sale on iTunes for $2.99. An exhibit on Les Paul's life in Mahwah is now open at the Mahwah Museum.

It would be awesome if that guitar could make it's way back to Mahwah.

Since these guitars were made by Gibson - was it EVER in Mahwah before?

So, what would, a hardly used 2006, cherry sunburst, signed, Gibson Les Paul, one year before his pasting. Picture of him & I @ the club in N.Y.C. That he played for years? Thank you jmangione210@yahoo.com
