Last month, the Mahwah Schools Foundation hosted its annual Golf Outing. Each year, the event - which includes golfing, silent auctions, and a cocktail reception - raises money for MSF grants to Mahwah teachers, In the past, grants have been used to pay for equipment, trips, new technologies and other programs that the group says helps to enhance the learning experience in Mahwah schools.

According to organizers, 160 people who attended the event this year were able to raise $27,000 for Mahwah schools.

This year, the MSF chose Mahwah Police Chief James Batelli as the outing's honoree. The group cited his work with kids in the township, through programs like DARE, the junior police academy and Youth Leadership Academy as reasons for the choice.

Photos from the event were submitted by the Mahwah Schools Foundation.

Why was my post deleted? And why was the event omitted from the article, a DWI arrest seems a bit more news worthy than the cocktail party that preceded it.

Why don't you start a blog on here and report it yourself?

A serious crime was committed in our town, by a public official. One who has access to our children. My concern is warranted, and I would like to see this matter addressed publicly.
