Ramsey EMS Sets Up Medical Unit At Dater School
Residents can charge medical devices or request EMS assistance
The following was submitted to Patch by Ramsey EMS Captain Michael Migliaccio.
Due to the power outage and expected restoration being of an extended duration, Ramsey EMS has established Field Treatment Unit at Dater School, located at 35 School Street in Ramsey, for persons that require electricity to power devices they are medically dependant on.
This is not a shelter. Medically-dependant persons may come to our Field Treatment Unit and self-administer their treatments, or seek EMS care. We do not have the ability to do long term care or provide Advanced Life Support treatment. Medically-dependant persons may come for assistance, or request transport to a local hospital.
Medically-dependant persons unfortunately may not sleep at this Field Treatment Unit. Unfortunately, we are not able to assist with non medical matters like cell phone charging or loan generators.
Ramsey EMS Headquarters is currently without power, and our phones are down. If you have questions about this service, or you need to get in touch with Ramsey EMS, please contact the Ramsey Police Department at 201-327-2400. For medical emergencies, please dial 9-1-1.

Ramsey EMS been running our Field Treatment Unit since Monday before the storm. Also since then, we have staffed an EMS Supervisor, our Rapid Response Vehicle, two ambulances and out Logistical Support Unit 24/7.
