Reader Photos: Volunteers, Scouts Start Beautifying Winter's Pond
Township officials say more is in store for rehab of pond and surrounding area
Mahwah Volunteers at work - getting ready for Memorial Day and the summer months.
A group of volunteers from Mahwah are helping to beautify the Winters Pond and Veterans Park areas in the center of town with flowers, banners, and American flags.
A special thanks for volunteering goes to Tom and Jane Dewan, Jack, Kim and Brian Bolan, Gerry and Bill Servino, Kate Dewan and Vivienne Kezmarsky, Dolores Gianni, and Maja Britton.
Ed Sinclair of the DPW and Darryl Secor of Secor Farms selected annuals for the planting. Other flower gardens on township property were planted by the Mahwah Girls Scouts. Their participation in this planting program has been a wonderful part of Mahwah's summer beautification program. Their planting can be seen all over town. Thank you, to all that helped.
The above was submitted to Patch by volunteer Tom Dewan.
