Recycling Debate Update, Mini Olympians This Week

Stories to look forward to on the Mahwah Patch this week

It’s shaping up to be a busy week in Mahwah. Check the Patch this week for the following stories. If you have an idea for a story you’d like to see on the site, email it to Jessica.Mazzola@Patch.com.

Recycling Talk

The mayor and town council are scheduled to pick up a conversation begun last month about the possibility of privatizing the township’s Recycling Department. Government officials are expected to ask and answer questions about potential cost savings and employee layoffs that would result from the switch.

Prime Replacement

A business’s closure earlier this summer marks the third vacant storefront in one township shopping center. Patch will ask readers what they hope will replace the empty business this week.

Mahwah’s Mini Olympians

Michael Phelps may not be from Mahwah, but a handful of township athletes had an Olympic experience of their own.

School Day Upgrades

While kids are beginning to prepare for back-to-school, upgrades at the six buildings they will be heading to this September are well underway. This week, Patch starts its coverage of the facilities improvements students can expect to see this year.
