A cheerful group of Mahwah’s senior citizens gathered at Continental Soldiers Field Thursday afternoon for the township’s annual Seniors Picnic. Put on by the Mahwah Recreation Committee, seniors were invited to a free BBQ, complete with hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon and cookies for dessert.

Food was cooked and served by Mahwah elected officials, Rec Committee members and the staff of Field of Creams Café.

“This event is such a nice way for everybody to get together,” Felicia Fox said.

“The town hosting an event like this for us makes us feel special,” Lil Towers added. “Mahwah treats us so nicely, and we all appreciate it.”
