Small Earthquake Could Be Felt in Mahwah
2.0 magnitude quake was centered in Ringwood, the AP reports
A small earthquake that was likely felt by some Mahwah residents struck northern New Jersey early Sunday morning, reports say.
According to abcnews.com, the 2.0 magnitude quake was centered in Ringwood, but could be felt in surrounding towns like Mahwah, Wanaque, Oakland, Franklin Lakes, West Milford and Paterson. The quake struck at about 1:19 a.m., reports said.
Though some residents reported hearing a loud “boom” noise, no damage has been reported as a result of the earthquake, the Associated Press report said.
The report cited the last earthquake in N.J. was recorded in Feb. 2010. It had a 2.2 magnitude.
