Snow Expected to Hit Mahwah Wednesday

Forecasts predict three inches or more could fall

 

Don’t put away your shovels and driveway salt just yet. Forecasters say another snowstorm is headed to the area Wednesday night, and it could drop several inches on Mahwah.

According to the National Weather Service,  three inches or more could fall Wednesday night into Thursday. Snow is expected to start around 9 p.m. Wednesday and last through noon Thursday.

Here’s a look at the NWS forecast:

  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. North wind 7 to 9 mph.
  • Tuesday Night: A slight chance of snow after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 30. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Wednesday: A slight chance of snow before 9am, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Northeast wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Wednesday Night: Rain and snow likely, becoming all snow after 9pm. Cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Thursday: A chance of snow before noon, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Breezy, with a north wind 18 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Thursday Night: A chance of rain before midnight, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Friday: A chance of snow before noon, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.
