Stop Mall Group Fundraiser Tuesday

Roxanne's is hosting this one, starting at 5 p.m.

The second of two fundraisers hosted by the Committee to Stop Mahwah Mall, a resident group that has a pending lawsuit against the township and has been fighting the development of a 600,000 sq. foot shopping center at the International Crossroads site for over a year, is Tuesday night.

Between 5 and 11 p.m., Roxanne’s will donate 30 percent of all sales to customers who identify themselves as Stop Mahwah Mall supporters to the group. The enclosed porch at the back of the restaurant will be reserved for CSMM supporters.

Last May, the CSMM sued the township in an attempt to invalidate an ordinance allowing for the shopping center to be built on the Crossroads property at the intersection of Routes 17 and 287. The hearing on the suit is set for Friday.

According to CSMM members, the group needs to raise about $13K in order to cover legal expenses.

MB&G was a great time with lots of friends and supporters, some new ones too, who were out for a fun and enjoyable evening. Looking forward to another rendez-vous tonight, with Roxanne's very generous support. It's easy to see the handwriting on the wall for these local businesses if the mall goes through--come help support them and the cause against the mall at the same time. And come hungry--Roxanne's is a wonderful place for food, drink, and good times!

a couple of local businesses give you a few bucks and all of a sudden you are worried about their bottom line and if they will stay in business.
They are afraid of competition?
I don't care about their bottom line.
As a consumer the mall will force these local businesses clean up their act,
produce a superior product with top notch service or else.
Where is the downside?
