Township Garbage Pickup Reduced To Once A Week Starting March 1
Twice-per-week collections will resume in June
Effective the first week in March, solid household waste pickup will be reduced from twice a week to once, according to a public notice released by the township Tuesday.
Suburban Disposal, Inc. will now conduct curbside pickups on the first day of the currently scheduled week. For example, “if two times per week is Monday and Thursday, one time per week will be on Monday only,” according to the town.
The once-a-week schedule will happen from Oct. 1 through May 31.
The town says that from June 1 through Sept. 31, the current twice-a-week pick-up schedule will resume.
The town says “There is no change to the procedure for pickup of household bulk items (Non construction material). There will be no change to the collection schedule from dumpster locations. There will be no change to the collection schedule for recyclable items at all locations.”
In addition, grass clippings will no longer be collected as they are noe. Residents can drop them off at the Recycling Center from April 7, 2011 through Sept. 30, weekdays from 7a.m. - 3p.m. and Saturdays 7a.m. – 1p.m.
Special collections of “refrigerators/freezers/air-conditioners for all residential curbside locations, residential dumpster locations, municipal property and Board of Education locations must be arranged, by appointment only by phone, directly from the resident to Suburban Disposal, Inc. at 1-973-227-7020.”
