Mahwah's Grace Coyle spends the morning enjoying the wonderful weather and the first day of Trout Season.

Saturday, anglers from in and around Mahwah gathered at the Ramapo River for the opening day of trout fishing season. Prior to opening day, the Ramapo was stocked with trout twice. Through the end of May, the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will stock about 500,000 more trout in waterways across the state.

For more information on the trout fishing season, visit the division's 2012 Spring Stocking Schedules page or call the Trout Stocking Hotline at 609-633-6765.

It is so wonderful that the Ramapo river is not polluted as it was many years ago and people can now fish and eat them. This also helps our close by businesses such as the Mason Jar where fishermen could stop by and have a cold one and a meal after enjoying our beautiful Ramapo after a hard day in trying to catch "The Big One"...lol
