What's Your Favorite Gas Station In Mahwah?

Vote in the Readers' Choice poll

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else who knows cars to vote for your favorite gas station in Mahwah.

To start, voting options are limited to previously nominated businesses and those added by Patch staff. But if you'd like to have a business added, just let me know in the comments and I'll add it to the list.

Voting runs until August 17 and winners will be announced the following week on August 24.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Remember when service stations charged by the hour for an actual hour's worth of work no matter what type of work that was. Those days are long gone. Now we pay a fixed "standardized" price for each and every little thing they touch (just like a dentist). When you pick up your car next time ask them how many guys worked on your car and why, for instance, you're paying for 13 hours of labor in an eight hour day. Some of their answers might surprise you. I don't mind paying for car repairs when the pricing is fair, but why is it it always costs at least a thousand bucks every time the car is serviced? Anybody else have that problem?

It depends on the make and model of the car. Expensive ones, parts cost more. Or
maybe you're just being ripped off !

I still miss that guy at "U-Save"
he was the happiest guy in Mahwah
"you have a really good day now"
and I think he meant it

Valero on 17 is a Zoo, one on the north bound is always crowded with NY plates and trucks, one on the south bound is just very dirty inside and very unfriendly staff.

The Pilot station - very friendly attendants and a great store. Glad they revitalized that place.

It's funny how just a few years ago everyone was anti-Pilot. The people of Mahwah came out in droves against the new station, and now it's voted as the best station in Mahwah. Talk about hypocrites.

And it'll be the same way with the new mall. I guarantee it. The haters will all shop there eventually and say how nice it is.

The "anti-Pilot" group was against the initial plan for a large truck stop with showers, etc. And the group that was against Pilot's initial plan succeeded in that the plan was scaled back to a gas station/convenience store, and truck traffic is now routed to Rte. 17 instead of exiting on Ridge Road. So in this case, the community's efforts provided a much better result for the town.

Let's not spin it to look like they did a good dead. Those people wanted it killed, period. When they couldn't get their way they HAD to bargain. They LOST.

Agreed, Nick. The Pilot plan was heading for a huge train wreck - and with activists keeping up the pressure we ended up with a suitable facility for its location, with the objections having been addressed one-by-one.

Sure - they were shooting for Mars - but I'm glad with their persistence we ended up at the moon, just as we should have.

When U save went out I was contemplating going to Valero. That was until Valero started trying to sue Pilot, to stop it from being built. I then decided to go to Pilot and that is the only gas station that I use. Very friendly.
