What Would You Improve in Mahwah in 2013?
If you could make a New Year's resolution for Mahwah, what would it be?
More than 45 percent of Americans make a resolution every year, according to statisticbrain.com. Some people vow to live a healthier lifestyle, others promise to spend more time with family, and many say they will try to save money.
As millions of Americans make resolutions to improve their lives, what could we do right here in Mahwah to make it an even better place to live?
At last week's swearing in ceremony, politicians commented that they would work to heal political divides that have split the community over the past two years.

Hey thats easy to do Richard. Are you willing to NOT having your garbage picked up? How about not having your street plowed after a snow storm? Hey if you have a personal emergency Richard and need a volunteer EMT or Ambulance which is taxpayer funded, would you eliminate that? How about god forbid a fire at your house, need help from the Fire Department?, Police Dept? If you are willing to eliin ate those few things from your life then I think a 20% reduction can be done for you.

I would do something about the traffic on Franklin Turnpike, and
look into additional traffic lights for it at strategic spots, like Bellgrove St.
It's Impossible nowadays to make a left-turn onto Franklin Turnpike within a reasonable amount of time.

(Or along the Ramapo from Sufferen to Oakland - similar to the Saddle River Bike/Walk Path from Ridgewood to Saddle Brook. Something the County could advance...).

How about having the no loitering and no littering ordinance enforced for the kids in their pickup trucks that hang out and litter every night by 7-Eleven by MacArthur and Ridge Road. It is a start, and obtainable.

how about posting " no thru truck traffic " signs on Strysko, sustack and south st.'s and any of the other dead end neighborhoods along route 202.

the problem of these wayward redneck truckers following their GPS will only be accerbated if the mall project goes thru. these over sized trucks can not navigate on the older smaller roads in these neighborhoods along 202.

If the truck driver was not white would use use another term to describe them besides "rednecks". Rather narrow minded of you to call them "rednecks" or hypocritical. The statement about what they do is fair however the argument looses its substance when you use terms like the one you used. Try to be a better person in 2013 is what we should all work on and maybe Mahwah would improve from there.
