The team has already held casting auditions, is acquiring funding, and plans to submit the finished product to film festivals next year.
Lights. Camera. Action. Two Mahwah High School sophomores are planning to make their dreams into realities this summer when they film and produce an original hour-long screenplay. The duo says their crew will be on location, filming throughout the township, and working on a project that they say will be the culmination of a years-long passion, and hopefully the start of film careers. Kyle Dubiel and Max Mucha both hope to go to film school after they graduate from MHS in 2015. In preparation, the two have been working on their craft for years. “We started just making videos on YouTube in sixth grade,” Dubiel said. Over the past four years, the two have refined their skills, even acquired an advanced video editing software and producing …

The governor follows in the comedic footsteps of his on-again, off-again buddy Barack Obama.
Gov. Chris Christie appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night to break down his decision to “let the people vote” in a special election for Frank Lautenberg’s senate seat. As The Roots laid down a smooth R&B beat, the governor mostly played the straight man to Fallon. Christie “slow jammed” his talking points about the special election and dodged questions about whether he’d announce a run for president. Christie remained poised, good natured, and at times affected a mock-offended tone, as Fallon cracked fat jokes at the guv’s expense during the 5 minute segment. “Now look, I know that this election is going to cost tax payers some money, but these costs can’t be measured against the value of having an elected member of the …

The Mahwah Museum announced locals have only one month left to see its most popular exhibit ever.
The most popular Mahwah Museum exhibit of all time is coming to an end. The Museum will close for the summer on June 30, and along with it the ‘Les Paul in Mahwah,’ exhibit, which has been attracting visitors from far and wide since it opened in 2011. The exhibit, which warranted a write-up by the New York Times, and has been the buzz amongst music lovers since it opened, displays many of the artifacts found in the inventor’s township home. It recreates his recording studio, shows early inventions, photographs and videos, and – of course – a collection of Les Paul guitars. Originally planned to have a yearlong run, the exhibit was extended last year to run through June 30, 2013. After that, the exhibit will be downsized to a corner of the …

The New Jersey pariah continues to make headlines.
That was a close call. Sources close to “Tanning Mom” Patricia Krentcil told celebrity gossip site TMZ that the Nutley woman would be featured in a soon-to-be released gay porn film. The sources then qualified the revelation: Krentcil would be working fully clothed and she won’t partake in any love making. What a relief. The 45-year-old mother would be paid $1,000 for the cameo role, sources said. Earlier this year, the mother of five recorded her debut rap single at a New York recording studio and posed topless on a Jersey Shore beach. Krentcil's infamy began in April 2012 when school officials noticed burns on her daughter's leg and reported the injuries to authorities. Following an investigation, Krentcil was arrested later that month. …
