In no particular order:

• English Bulldog:

  50-60 pounds, known as a very poor watch dog, needs little space, good with

  children and generally sleeps until it's time to eat.

• Havenese:

 8-13pounds, this dog seldom barks and is know as a "velcro" dog because     wherever you go...

• Prince Charles Cavalier:

10-14lbs, not known for barking, easily trained but craves human companionship, natural lap warmer.

• Bichon Frise:

7-12lbs, thrive social interaction, low shedder, easily trainable (can do tricks) barks sometimes but not yappy.

• Great Dane:

130+lbs,  although they are huge dogs they are for the most part inactive and very good for apartments and gentle enough for children. They are not "big barkers."

• Basenji:

15-25lbs, these dogs do not bark but do make noises that sound like a "yodel" they do well in apartments but are high energy dogs that need exercise and are "pack oriented" that like other Basenji's .

• Greyhound

60-80lbs, although they are a large breed, these dogs make great apartment dogs, especially retired racing dogs because they are already crate trained, they seldom bark (maybe once a year) they require their own couch and a TV remote.

• Mastiff

*130+lbs.  Another large laid back breed, non barker, if you need him to go somewhere he might require a "push". Great family dog although some say too large and clumsy for very small children.

• French Bulldog:

19-28lbs, not known for barking, don't need much exercise yet can walk long distances if needed.

Of course, these are just guidelines and there is always exceptions to the rule. When choosing a dog you must do your homework. Go online, research your breed, consider and check out rescues for the particular breed your interested in, read forums that are breed specific, and generally...read, read, read!
