Jeremy Lin...A New LINSATION To The Pro Sports Scene
By now everyone has heard about Jeremy Lin. Ohhh you havent? Jeremy Lin is the new sensation in pro basketball, he is the new point guard for the New York Knicks. A native of Palo Alto, California, Jeremy played his college ball at Harvard. After a rocky beginning to his NBA career, he was cut twice before being signed by the Knicks just a few months ago.
The Knicks started this lockout-abbreviated season seemingly still in a stupor and were not close to meeting any pre-season expectations. Last year's trade aquiring Carmelo Anthony had many Knick fans hoping for a return the the NBA post season and even more hopeful of making significant strides in the playoffs. Subpar performances by Knick guards Shumpert and Douglas propelled coach Mike D'Antonio to give Jeremy his opportunity in New York and to say he has made the most of it is an understatement.
Jeremy Lin is averaging over 25 points a game and he was largely responsible the the Knicks recent 5 game winning streak. He is the cover for Sports Illustrated for the second week in a row, and a major sporting goods chain had to scurry to get jersies made up for the general public to purchase.
Jeremy excited the Garden fans and Knick basketball viewers with his uptempo style of play. He is an excellent passer and unafraid to take the ball to the hoop and challenge the giants of the league. The excitement is contagious and even national sports outlets are following New York Knicks baskeball all of a sudden. It seems that with every ray of sunshine comes some rain, however. This week, two major sports broadcasting outlets have made awful comments about Jeremy Lin, utilizing a terrible racial epiphet. Lets enjoy it for what it is -- entertaining excitement and a diversion from the affairs of the day, and maybe, just maybe, there will be playoff basketball once again at Madison Square Garden.

Going to be a great game tonight Miami vs the New York Knicks at mid season
any other time it would be a long yawn. Lin sanity changes all that. No one wants to be shown up by Jeremy Lin. Everyone (except Atlanta) is bring their "A" game like it was the playoffs. Which is great because it almost like watching a playoff game every night!

It was very disappointing to say the least ....wayyyyyyyyyy too many turnovers for Lin and Stadt....too many steals...lotta work for D'Antoni over the all star weekend he has to figure out how the pieces are gonna fit....Baron Davis should be released

The Heat are the real deal.They made it so hard for Lin that even when he did finally get the offense moving, there was no time on the shot clock. If they run into that problem again they need a plan "b" I thought Davis would be inspired to run the offense but he did not do well. They have to keep Mike Bibby because he can also drive the team bus.

As a long suffering Met fan I will not go to Citi Field to see the Mets as long as the Wilpons own the team. I have not gone yet. I may have to head to the Bronx with my bother who is a Yankee fan along with my son for his first game. That is not the best either because the Yanks just throw money away at players but its better then driving to Queens. Fred please sell the team we beg you SELL!!!!
