All I Want for Christmas Is...

What the sports world needs

IN 10 DAYS WE CELEBRATE THE ULTIMATE GIFT OF LOVE TO ALL OF US---THE BABY JESUS BORN TO TAKE ON THE SINS OF THE WORLD...IN TERMS OF SPORTS HERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT I'D LIKE TO SEE:

-Continued good health for the NY Knicks off to an amazing 17-4 start. Once Amare Stoudamire and Iman Shumpert return let's hope the team stays intact and makes a long playoff run.

-A solution somehow that restores the National Hockey League back to action.  Without question there is a big void in the winter sports scene that folks are finding a way to fill. If the league does not come back this year, will there be any reason to come back at all?

-Another big playoff run for the New York Giants...Big Blue invades Atlanta this week where a win over the Dirty Birds of the South will give the Giants a pass into the NFL post season

-A parting of the ways for Tim Tebow and the New York Jets...This was an awful idea from the start and I really feel bad for both Tebow and Mark Sanchez that this situation was man made by the Jets, and that it had to be tolerated.

-One last post season for Derek and Andy, the Yankees must get younger quckly and the free agent market might not be the best way to proceed anymore.  We wonder if A-Rod will return at all this year - or perhaps more pointedly - is his career over?

-Anything positive for the New York Mets...sign R.A. Dickey already!

-A third outlet for sportstalk radio here in the metro NYC area. The CBS Sports radio network is set to debut in early 2013 and there currently is no outlet here in our area. WFAN and ESPN RADIO should be advised, competition is gonna get hotter and listeners will be the benefactors.

-Continued relief for all of those in our area still reeling from Hurricane Sandy....Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think we would need to prepare for a hurricane -- here in New Jersey.

-THAT WE ALL TAKE TIME FOR EACH OTHER AND REALIZE THE REAL MEANING OF THE SEASON...MERRY CHRISTMAS
