GAMES PEOPLE PLAY a look at the goings on in the world of sports

What a week it has been!  Let's review the games that people play and make alot of money.

ITEM ONE-Bubba Watson wins the Masters.

For pure drama, beauty and challenge it's hard to beat the back nine on Sunday at Augusta.  This one went into overtime as University of Georgia alumnus Gary Bubba Watson won his first green jacket as daytme was turning to night in northern Georgia.  A self taught success story made all of us feel good in a sport where fresh air is constantly needed and not always invited

ITEM TWO-Bill Parcells turns down the Saints

Maybe the Tuna read our blog on Patch and decided to stay retired.  It's been reported that Parcells has informed the Saints that he will not coach the team next year.  In a related story NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had rejected the appeal of Saints coach Sean Payton.  One has to wonder what your chances are when you have to file an appeal with the very person who made the decision or in this case suspended you.  Its apparent to me that Payton's place on suspension was cemented when an audio tape surfaced with the bounties being put in place AFTER the Saints had been warned.

ITEM THREE-Baseball is back

The Mets and Yankees are off to a mediocre start as the teams finish thier second series' of the 2012 regular season.  At press time Mets fans feared doon as yet another injury to David Wright has surfaced and the Yankees have been horrible so far with men on base in scoring position.  Its early yet but Joe Girardi I AM WATCHING YOU AND I DONT LIKE WHAT I AM SEEING. Once agan Joe is over managing, walking a guy intentionally in the first inning of the first game of the year and resting players after 2 games??????????? Joe these guys are millionaires they can handle it ok?

ITEM FOUR-The NHL PLAYOFFS BEGIN

The Rangers and Devils begin their quests for Lord Stanley's Cup as hockey begins its postseason.  it will not be a smooth road for either local team however and travels in the first round will not be smooth but I look for both teams  to advance to a second round, maybe against each other.
