Cliffside Park - BC Protect & Rescue Foundation (BC P&R), an all volunteer, non-profit, no kill animal rescue shelter, is celebrating the one-year anniversary assisting the communities it serves. In celebration of this milestone, the shelter is reducing its adoption fees for all kittens and cats by half.  BC P&R’s main service area is Cliffside Park, Fort Lee, Edgewater, Palisades Park, Fairview, Bogota, Teaneck and GWB Port Authority NY/NJ.  The shelter also helps assist other towns by pulling animals on euthanasia lists when room is available.

The special adoption fee for kittens is $40 unaltered (normally $80) and for spayed/neutered adult cats one year and older the special fee is $50 (normally $100).   All kittens are vaccinated and all adult cats are fully vaccinated and spay/neutered.  This special will run through September 15, 2013.

Our kittens and cats come in many colors and sizes with personalities to fit a human’s.  We have shy ones, lively ones, black, white, orange and brown.  Big and small, green eyed, yellow eyed, verbal or non, we got them all.  Come visit and seek your new best friend.  With cute cuddly furry faces that no one can resist, they are eager to find their forever home.

BC P&R is all about its animals, which it saves.  Without our help these beautiful, homeless animals would otherwise be euthanized at either a local county or state run facility.  As Vincent Ascolese, Supervisor of the shelter, Humane Enforcement Agent and founder of Bergen County Protect & Rescue, states, “ We as a group of volunteers are trying to do the right thing.  We want to save homeless animals and also give back to our communities. We depend solely on donations from our residents and especially from corporate sponsors to help aid us in our mission of saving lives. The more help we receive financially, our animals will lead a much happier and healthier life”.

BC Protect & Rescue is a small facility that was rebuilt from an old EMS station. The cost to run this edifice is $4,000 per month in which volunteers are working very hard to raise the much-needed funds one dollar at a time. Additional fees includes, vet bills such as low cost spay/neuter, micro-chipping, food, litter, cleaning supplies, office supplies, cages and crates.

BC Protect & Rescue’s mission is to help save as many lives as possible without being euthanized, due to lack of a home, space or compassion.  We are here to help educate the public on Humane Education, Spay/Neuter, and Micro-chipping procedures.  BC P&R is a place where the public can come for help and have questions answered.  This foundation is here to serve the public and its needs, saving one life at a time.

BC P&R is always looking for highly dedicated volunteers to help with web design, graphic arts, photography, fundraising, dog walking, cat socialization, and cage cleaners.  Opt To Adopt.  Don’t buy while homeless pets die.

BC Protect & Rescue shelter is located at 302 2nd St., at the corner of Walker St.  The shelter is open from 1p – 5p, M-Su.  If you are interested in joining our team, please contact us at 201-945-0649 or contact us at www.BCRescues.org.
