Six-Year-Old Donates Hair to Cancer Patients

The following letter and photos above were submitted to Patch by reader Barb Widmer.

My 6 year old daughter, Samantha Widmer, has decided to cut her beautiful long brown hair to donate to someone with cancer.

She made this decision around Thanksgiving and had it done at Lush Day Spa in Ramsey on Thursday, December 12 where our beautician, Dawn, graciously cut her hair into a beautiful new style for this brave little girl. She was able to cut off more than 9 inches so we sent it to Pantene who accepts hair donations to make wigs for people who have lost their hair in their fight against cancer.

Neither the salon nor Dawn would accept payment or tip for this wonderful act of kindness.
