SUPERFIT CHAMPIONSHIPS ANNOUNCES 2014 CORE FOUR LINE-UP
New Jersey’s Top CrossFit Coaches Lend Expertise
MADISON, NJ, October 30, 2013 – The SuperFit Championships, a series of intense qualifying fitness competitions leading up to the championship on the Jersey Shore, announced today the members of their “Core Four”, four elite CrossFit “box” owners and expert coaches, who will be competition coordinators for the 2014 SuperFit Championships. In its second year, the SuperFit Championships strives to become the premier individual fitness competition on the East Coast.
The “Core Four” is comprised of Craig Parcells from CrossFit Hoboken, Greg Killian from CrossFit KillFit in Manasquan, Mickey Brueckner from CrossFit Annex in Chatham, and Joe Subia from Aero Athletics in Mahwah.
“We are very excited to continue working with our Core Four. Each coach brings their own expertise and unique skill-set to our event series, and they all bring passion and energy,” said Armand Milanesi, Event Organizer. “We are grateful for their knowledge of the industry and we look forward to working with them in staging the area’s premier fitness competition. Our athletes will surely benefit from this continued relationship.”
"I am excited to be heading into my second year with the SuperFit Championships. Being a part of their inaugural year in 2013 was a great experience and I am looking forward to what the new year brings with new competitors and new workouts,” said Core Four member and CrossFit Annex owner Mickey Brueckner. “We are looking to build upon the success of last year's Championship and offer the best possible experience for both athletes and spectators in the 2014 championship."
The Core Four members will help design and execute the workouts for the qualifiers and finals. In addition, they will assist in creating competition standards for the athletes and help administer the judging criteria for all workouts. This premier competition, which will test athletes of all ages and fitness levels, will cover various aspects of fitness including but not limited to: body weight mechanics, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning. Not only will athletes be competing for the title of ‘SuperFit Champion,’ but also the prize purse.
“In the SuperFit Championships' premiere year, I was very excited to be taken on to help with the organization of the competitions. The ability to work hand in hand with event management professionals that have been in the fitness industry was a great learning experience,” said Core Four member and Aero Athletics coach Joe Subia. “When I was asked to come onboard again for the 2014 SuperFit Championships, I jumped at the chance. I could not be more excited to not only work with a great group of professionals, but people I call friends.”
Starting in April 2014, the SuperFit Championships will host qualifiers in National Guard Armories across the Garden State. The top competitors from each qualifier will advance to the finals at the Jersey Shore once again. Announcements regarding qualifier and finals locations, prize purse, and the charity tie-ins, will be released in the coming months.
