CFA Food Donations Are Down, Need Is Up

Letter to Mahwah residents from the Center for Food Action director

Dear Friends,

I want to thank you very much for the support that we at the Center for Food Action receive from you throughout the year.

Our agency is seeing significant decreases in our monthly donations and increases in the number of families needing help with food as well as help with homeless prevention. These areas are our primary focus in servicing the community.

As much as I love campaigning to help families with Department Stores gift cards, and relieving many of them from the stress of worrying about their needs for the holiday season, I must also be mindful that when they come to us for their monthly assistance that I am able to provide them with their basic food needs.

I am saddened that I have to discontinue our department store gift card program, so. I am asking our supporters if in any way you can help us provide the necessities.

I would greatly appreciate if you could help us with our food supply, by running a food drive or donating supermarket gift cards or other forms of monetary contributions.

Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

William “Jim” James
