Community Collecting Donations for Family Burned by Disaster

A running list of how you can help

Several community groups have started organizing efforts to help a Stag Hill family who lost its house in a fire Wednesday night.

Patch will continue to update this list with additional donation options:

  • Fire Department Co. 2 is collecting gift cards for the family at the firehouse on Island Road. Cards can be dropped off in the mailbox, and must be clearly marked as a donation for the family.
  • Kohl's is giving the family 30% off all clothing purchases through Monday evening. Residents can buy Kohl's gift cards for the family, and the family will get the discount when it spends the card. But, the discount only lasts through Monday, so residents would need to donate the cards before that.
  • TMYSB (youth sports) group is doing a clothing, toy, and monetary donations drive on Saturday at Ramapo Ridge School. Donations can be dropped off on Saturday at the Ramapo Ridge Middle School cafeteria between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. If you cannot drop donations off on  Saturday, please contact Michelle Ketendjian at (201)832-5425 or Jen Kozdra at (201)684-9464 to set up a drop off.
  • The Mahwah Junior Football Program will be collecting gift card and cash donations at Continental Soldiers Field equipment room on Saturday, January 5 from 10-11 a.m. for the family. Donations will be delivered to the family Saturday evening.
