Holiday Trunk Show to Benefit Winter's Park Upgrade

Percentage of proceeds from Thursday's sales will help pay for new playground equipment near Winter's Pond

A committee of seven Mahwah moms working to revamp a township park is hoping to score some financial support for the project from locals looking for holiday gifts.

The Winter’s Park Playground Committee is hosting a Holiday Trunk Show Thursday that will act as a fundraiser toward the purchase of new playground equipment near Winter’s Pond, off East Ramapo Ave. in Mahwah.

“I think… people and families in this community will wrap their arms around this project because it’s just going to become something great for our kids,” Kim Bolan, a resident who grew up in Mahwah and who is now heading up the playground committee, said.

Though the township is applying for grants to fund some of the improvements at the park, the committee will be relying on local business and resident donations to help fund the project, which is where Thursday’s trunk show comes in, Bolan said.

Vendors like Arbonne, Jewel Kade, Lia Sophia, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, PartyLite, Stella & Dot and Swarovski will have tables set up at the event, and at least 15% of all sales made at the trunk show will be donated to the new Winter’s Park Playground. Most of the vendors at the show are also guaranteeing delivery by Christmas.

Admission is $5, and includes refreshments (donated by the Mahwah Deli and Field of Creams Cafe) and entry into raffles, door prizes and other giveaways.

The Winter’s Park Holiday Trunk Show is Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Ramapo Reformed Church. See more information in the attached flier.
