Nonprofit Group Wins Tax Appeal For Mahwah Property Despite Use Issues

As the legality of its of the property is questioned, a nonprofit organization wins a tax appeal in Mahwah Township.

Nonprofit Organization Chai Lifeline has won a tax appeal against Mahwah Township for a property on Ramapa Valley Road it owns that was donated to the group in 2007, according to northjersey.com.

Chai Lifelife does not have to pay property tax to the township for 2008 and 2011 for the wooded, but the status for 2009 and 2010, as well as 2012 to 2014, is still pending, and the township continues to question the legality of the charity's use of the property as a retreat for families with sick children.
