Pair of Fundraisers to Help Family that Lost Home, Belongings

Take your pick - an evening Tricky Tray and Dance and a Sunday Pancake Breakfast will both raise funds for the Mann family

Several weeks after a Mahwah family lost its home in a large fire that broke out at the top of Stag Hill, members of the community continue to set up fundraisers and events to help the family recouperate from their loss.

Mark your calendars for two upcoming events to help the Mann family.

The first, happening this Friday evening, is an event being hosted by Becky Mann’s employer, The Rainbow Academy in Mahwah.

Becky works at Rainbow Academy, she is a long time employee and part of our family,” RA Director Kim Cafferata said. So, the early education center decided to help.

This Friday, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., local families are invited to stop by the Academy for a night of Tricky Tray raffles, a DJ, dancing, games, and pizza, drinks and baked goods for sale. The event will raise money for the family and accept monetary and gift card donations only.

The second event is a Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Mahwah Fire Department, which has been organizing relief efforts since it responded to the house fire earlier this month. The breakfast is happening Sunday, Jan. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Mahwah Elks Club on Foxwood Lane. Tickets to the breakfast are $8 for children and seniors and $10 for adults.

The Mann family recently thanked residents for all of their support since the fire.
