Parade, Ceremony to Honor Memorial Day in Mahwah Monday

Event will conclude in the completed 'Circle of Freedom' unveiling.

According to an announcement from the township, the annual Memorial Day Parade and service, sponsored by VFW Post #7124 and the Township of Mahwah, will be held on Monday at 10 a.m.

The parade will step off from the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church located on Island Road, and will be followed by a Memorial Day ceremony held at Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Franklin Tpke and East Ramapo Avenue.

The ceremony will include the unveiling of the newly completed 'Circle of Freedom' memorial. The newest and final addition to the memorial, six flags honoring each branch of the military and prisoners of war, will be raised by township veterans for the first time during the ceremony.
