State Plans Nighttime Route 17 Repaving

At least one lane will be open at all times, report says.

Local drivers should prepare for lane closures on Route 17 South for the rest of the summer, thanks to a reported state road-resurfacing project.

The NJ Department of Transportation will be repaving four miles of Route 17 South from Ramsey to Saddle River, NJ.com reported.

The $2.9 million project will repave every lane of the highway from Airmount Avenue to Cameron Avenue, the report said.

Most of the roadwork will be performed at night, and at least one of the three lanes will be open at all times, the report said.

According to NJ.com, preliminary work started last week, and the entire project should be finished by the fall.
