Wine Tasting Festival In Mahwah This Weekend

Garden State Wine Growers Association will have over 200 wines to sample

The historic Ramapo River Valley with scenic mountains in the background will provide a beautiful setting for the Garden State Wine Growers Association’s (GSWGA) Jersey Hills Wine Festival, June 9 and 10 on the campus of in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Over 200 wines will be sampled from 15 wineries at the event, which will be held on the 300-acre campus of Ramapo College in Bergen County and located just minutes from Route 17, U.S. 202 and Interstate 287, making travel easily accessible from all parts of the state and the New York area.

Admission is $25 per person at the door and includes a souvenir wine glass. Attendees will be able to purchase wine by the bottle and case. Advance tickets are also available for $20 by going online at www.newjerseywines.com. All of the wines available for sampling have been locally produced and feature a number of gold, silver and bronze award winning vintages from major national competitions including the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, The Los Angeles County Fair Wine Competition, the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and the Beverage Testing Institute Wine Challenge.

“We think the mountains of the Ramapo Valley and the beautiful Ramapo campus will provide one of the most majestic sites we have ever had for a Festival,” said Ollie Tomasello, Chairman of the Garden State Wine Growers Association and owner of Plagido’s Winery in Hammonton.
