Girls on the Run is 501c3 youth development program with over 200 chapters in the United States, serving over 60,000 girls annually. The mission of the organization is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Lessons include topics to enable girls to effectively problem solve and remain strong during adolescence which can be a challenging time in a young girls life. Topics include dealing with body image and the media, resisting peer pressure, making healthy decisions, and contributing to the community. The running portion of the program is used as a modality to get the message across,YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!
