Bergen Community College Presents 'Other People's Money'
The dark comedy runs Thursday through Saturday from Feb. 21 until March 1 at Ender Hall Lab Theatre in Paramus.
Bergen Community College’s theatre troupe will present Jerry Sterner’s “Other People’s Money,” a dark comedy about commitment and capitalism, beginning Friday, Feb. 21.
Symbolic of old-fashioned corporate greed that resonates today, the play follows corporate raider Lawrence Garfinkle who sets his sights on New England Wire & Cable Company—an aging Rhode Island family business that employs an entire small town. As Garfinkle begins his hostile takeover, he buys out the company’s shares with the goal of demolishing the business and selling its assets for a profit.
The play, originally presented by the American Stage Company in Teaneck in the 1980s, runs Thursdays through Saturdays from Friday, Feb. 21 to Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s Ender Hall Lab Theatre, located at the main campus in Paramus. On Saturday, Feb. 22 and March 1, matinee performances take place at 2 p.m.
